The Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University is a unit of the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University and one of Poland’s important academic and research centres focused on European studies. The Institute conducts research, teaching and project activities, combining European, international and intercultural perspectives.

The cooperation between the Association of the Lublin Metropolitan Area and the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University covers, in particular, scientific, educational and organisational activities. The partnership includes, among others:

  • implementation of joint research works and projects,
  • organisation of seminars, sessions, academic and popular science conferences,
  • participation in the academic activities of the Jagiellonian University, including lectures and online events,
  • cooperation in activities aimed at educating young people in the spirit of dialogue, openness and understanding with other cultures,
  • addressing topics related to national identity in the 20th and 21st centuries, Polish culture abroad, multiculturalism and the promotion of Polish culture,
  • publication of the results of joint activities,
  • organisation of joint events, including exhibitions, lectures and other projects,
  • cooperation in obtaining external funding and grants for the implementation of joint initiatives,
  • exchange of information and promotion of joint undertakings.

The partnership with the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University opens up new opportunities for scientific and organisational cooperation, particularly in areas related to education, intercultural dialogue, heritage, identity and the international dimension of activities undertaken by the Association of the Lublin Metropolitan Area.
